Less waste

We always try to install our floor coverings as efficiently and environmentally friendly as possible. Nevertheless, refurbishing the old parquet flooring is the more sustainable option, avoiding waste and reducing emissions. We would be happy to clarify with you whether a refurbishment of the existing floor covering is an option. Many parquet floors look as good as new after sanding and a new surface treatment.

Energy saving

The restoration by sanding and surface treatment of the old parquet flooring requires significantly less energy in direct comparison to a new installation. In addition to the emissions from the conventional production of floor coverings, energy is required for transportation, storage and disposal. Many of these energy-intensive steps are eliminated when refurbishing the old wooden floor, which significantly reduces the overall energy requirement.

Cost efficiency

Minimizing costs is an important factor in favour of sanding down an old parquet floor. In addition to the material costs, you also save the costs of dismantling, disposal and installation. In some cases, a new installation can be three times more expensive than refurbishing the old floor. Once an old, high-quality parquet floor has been sanded down, it can give homeowners many years of pleasure again.

Rough sanding of your parquet
First, all objects should be removed from the room.
Before we can start sanding, we remove your old skirting boards and countersink any protruding nail heads.

This is followed by rough sanding with a belt sander to remove any old paint, wax or oil residue and other soiling from the floor.
For corners, scratches and dents, we use special edge sanding machines for each sanding cycle of your premises.

Naturally, all machines are equipped with dust extraction systems.

Middle sanding of your wooden floor
Next comes the middle sanding.

Here, we remove sanding marks and irregularities caused by the first sanding process on your parquet or plank floor.

In this step, hard-to-reach areas are also sanded with an edge sanding machine.
Did you know that the material removal is only approx. 0.5 – 0.7 mm during the entire overhaul?

After this sanding process, we check your floorboards or parquet for cracks and joints.

Repair joints & fine sanding

Depending on the type of parquet, joints between the parquet strips can now be sealed with a special joint sealant.

As soon as the joints have been professionally closed by us, the final sanding takes place.

During this process, we sand your parquet floor with a finer grit to give it a smooth surface.

Your parquet floor is then ready for a new surface treatment.

Lacquered or oil parquet

Finally, we seal your floor with varnish or treat the surface with oil.

We only use dispersion-based varnishes. These are environmentally friendly and also suitable for heavy-duty use.

Oil and wax emphasize the natural look of your parquet floor. Which treatment is right for you depends entirely on your requirements.

In unserem Haus wurde 2009 Bembé Parkett verlegt.Es ist aus Eiche und qualitativ sehr hochwertig.Zu unserer Fußbodenheizung passt es perfekt.Nach 13 Jahren entschieden wir uns, das Parkett zunächst im Wohnzimmer, danach im Kinderzimmer abschleifen und neu versiegeln zu lassen. Vor der Ausführung der Arbeiten fand eine Begutachtung und kompetente Beratung vor Ort statt.Im Vordergrund stand die beste Lösung für den Kunden und nicht die maximal gewinnbringende Variante.Die Arbeiten wurden schließlich kurzfristig (trotz eines hohen Krankenstands), sauber und schnell durchgeführt.Demnächst wollen wir noch das Parkett in zwei weiteren Zimmern abschleifen lassen.

Unser altes, beschädigtes Parkett auf 50 Quadratmeter mußte ausgewechselt werden. Altes Parkett raus, schleifen, Neuverlegung, Sockelleisten anbringen und Einpflege.
